Invertebrate groups
Invertebrates are classified according to their features. The most common groups of invertebrates found in places like the Field of Mars Reserve and school grounds are annelids, arthropods and molluscs.
There are lots of different kinds of environments found in Australia. In the area around the Field of Mars Reserve you can find eucalypt forests, mangroves and salt marsh.
Habitats are the homes for animals. Living habitats include trees, shrubs and ground cover plants. A good quality habitat also contains many non-living components including leaf litter, rocks, logs and water.
