Invertebrate art HPGE enrichment program

HPGE, Creative Arts and Science and Technology

Stage 2 and 3

One day workshop:

Tuesday 4th March

Maximum 8 students per school (DoE schools only)

Teachers are NOT required to attend the workshop.

This HPGE workshop is perfect for students who love invertebrates and enjoy experimenting with art.

During this workshop students will explore the bushland and gardens in the Field of Mars Reserve looking for a variety of invertebrates. They will create artworks inspired by invertebrates in the environment.

Using a range of magnification equipment students will get up close and personal with an invertebrate to learn about their special features and role in the environment.

After careful observation and study of an invertebrate, students will create an artwork on mounted canvas. This will involve the use of a variety of media including rollers, pencils, brushes and acrylic paint.

This one-day workshop is designed to extend participants' skills and artmaking experiences beyond the classroom.

Location

  • Field of Mars Reserve

Teachers or parents will need to drop off and pick up the students to and from the Field of Mars Reserve on the day.
