Fieldwork
Fieldwork is one way we can conduct a practical investigation in science.
The processes of fieldwork is more than selecting equipment and heading outside to measure things in nature. Fieldwork needs to be planned carefully to identify an issue to investigate, then generate an appropriate investigation plan that is safe and will produce a valid data set.
The fieldwork described in this resource involves collecting quantitative and qualitative data while minimising risks for researchers and avoiding damage to the natural environment.
Fieldwork sits within at least four of the seven working scientifically skills.
