Fieldwork is just one of the ways that we can conduct a practical investigation in science.
The processes of fieldwork are more than just selecting some equipment and heading outside to measure things in nature. They need to be planned carefully to identify an issue for investigation then generate an appropriate investigation plan that is safe and will produce a valid data set.
The fieldwork described in this resource involves collecting different types of quantitative and qualitative data while minimising risks for the researchers and avoiding damage to the natural environment.
