Digital woodlands excursion
Creative arts, geography, science
During this excursion Stage 3 students will be introduced to the techniques and methods of digital photography, photo editing and visual text construction on an iPad.
Using an iPad shared between two, students will go on a journey to create a portfolio of photographs that portray the special features of the bushland found in the Field of Mars Reserve.
Upon returning to the centre students will construct a photo story of their most striking photos using the Book Creator app. They will then select their favourite photo to be printed and framed.
Each student's best photograph will be printed on A4 photo paper at Field of Mars EEC. These will be delivered to the school with a photo frame at a later date.
Printed images can be used to form a gallery for an art appreciation session. Images can be used for digital story telling in other classroom programs.
Recommended maximum 4 classes per day.
This program can also operate as an incursion if your school has access to nearby natural areas.
