What is that? How do you know? What features does it have? These questions and more will be explored as students learn about classifying living things. During this excursion Stage 2 students will look for evidence on a bush walk, collect invertebrates and make recordings of living things and their observable features.
Students will conduct a hands-on investigation to determine what invertebrate groups are found in the Field of Mars Reserve. Collected specimens will be examined using magnifiers and classified using a classification key. Students will also get up close with phasmids to create a scientific drawing highlighting their amazing features.
Recommended maximum 4 classes per day.
