Stage 1 excursions
Our Stage 1 excursions are designed for Years 1 and 2 students and combine hands-on exploration, storytelling and simple fieldwork.
Programs support HSIE, geography and History, PDHPE, and Science and Technology and help students investigate places, animals, movement and connections to Country.
HSIE geography
Features of places
HSIE geography
Students explore natural and built features of places, use simple maps and photos, and describe how places look, feel and are used.
Ranger for a day
HSIE geography
Students take on the role of a park ranger, investigating animals, plants and habitats while learning how to care for bushland and local environments.
Water environments
HSIE geography
Students visit or investigate local water environments such as creeks or wetlands, observing animals, plants and how people use and look after water.

Aboriginal connections
HSIE history and geography
Students learn about Aboriginal connections to Country and Place, listen to stories, and explore how Aborignal peoples care for and understand the land and waterways.

Bushland adventure
PDHPE
A movement-focused excursion where students walk, climb, balance and play games in the bush while practising safe behaviours in outdoor environments.
Bush magic
PDHPE
An imaginative bush walk that uses stories, movement and simple challenges to build confidence, cooperation and enjoyment of physical activity outdoors.

Science and technology
Students investigate plants and animals at different stages of their life cycle, make simple observations and discuss how living things grow and change.
