Stage 1 excursions | Years 1–2 | Field of Mars EEC

Stage 1 (S1) excursions provide hands-on environmental learning for Year 1 and Year 2 students.

Led by qualified NSW Department of Education teachers, students explore bushland, waterways, local places and living things through guided fieldwork, storytelling, movement and investigation.

Programs support English, HSIE, PDHPE and Science and Technology, with a focus on vocabulary, observation, teamwork, fieldwork skills and caring for places.

English excursions

Stage 1 students act as rangers learning nature words during the wild words excursion.

An English excursion where Stage 1 students become park rangers, explore bushland, build nature vocabulary and practise using descriptive and cause-and-effect language.
