Program
Students will participate in an engaging and active day in bushland, where they will develop fundamental movement skills and practise fair play through Aboriginal games and sensory activities. They will also build self-management and interpersonal skills by demonstrating respectful communication, cooperation, and positive interactions.
Learning intention
- We are using fundamental movement skills to move our bodies.
- We are learning to work as a team to complete activities.
Activities
Bushland adventure
Students will embark on a bushland adventure, engaging in a variety of sensory activities designed to enhance their awareness of the natural environment. These activities will incorporate fundamental movement skills and encourage students to connect physically and mindfully with the bushland setting. Through exploration and hands-on experiences, students will develop their coordination, spatial awareness, and confidence in outdoor movement.
Aboriginal Games
Students will participate in traditional Aboriginal games that emphasise movements inspired by native animals. These games not only promote physical fitness and fundamental movement skills but also provide cultural insight into the ways Aboriginal Peoples connect with and learn from the natural world. These games foster positive social interactions and a deeper appreciation of Aboriginal cultural heritage.
