Field of Mars Reserve location information

Field of Mars Reserve in East Ryde is the main location used for school excursions delivered by Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre. By bus

Bus access

School excursion buses enter the reserve via the vehicle entrance at 220 Pittwater Road, East Ryde.

Rigid buses of all sizes can proceed to the bus turning area to drop off and pick up students. From the turning bay, walk along the unsealed access road to reach the Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre building.

Buses must not enter the gravel access road. Bendy (articulated) buses cannot enter the reserve.

Parking

Up to two buses can park in the turning area. Drivers must minimise unnecessary engine noise and must not leave engines idling, as fumes and noise disturb nearby residents.

Visitors in cars or minibuses can park in the car park adjacent to Pittwater Road.

By car

If you are arriving by car you will need to park nearby and walk a short distance to the EEC – no general visitor parking is available inside the reserve.

Main car park

The main car park is located at the front of the reserve adjacent to Pittwater Road. From the car park, walk past the bus turning bay along the unsealed access road to reach the Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre building.

Street parking

Additional street parking is available in Kennedy Street and Westminster Road. Access the reserve using steps located at the end of each street. The Westminster entrance is steep and rough, so it is not suitable for all groups.
