Learning programs | school excursions, incursions and HPGE
Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre offers a wide range of curriculum-aligned learning programs for K–12 students across NSW. Our excursions, incursions, high potential and gifted education (HPGE) workshops and teacher professional learning sessions provide authentic, hands-on experiences that build environmental understanding, scientific inquiry, creative expression and connection to place.
Primary excursions
Early Stage 1 to Stage 3 curriculum-aligned environmental and sustainability excursions for K–6 students, focusing on science, geography, history, HSIE, English and creative arts in Sydney bushland, waterways and urban environments.
Primary incursions
Early Stage 1 to Stage 3 in-school incursions for K–6 that bring nature, sustainability, design and digital creativity into the classroom, with all resources and equipment provided by Field of Mars EEC. Programs support NSW science, geography, HSIE, creative arts and English outcomes.
Secondary excursions and incursions
Stage 4–6 geography and science fieldwork, environmental investigations and assessment support for Years 7–12, offered as excursions in Field of Mars Reserve and other Sydney locations, and as school-based incursions.
High potential and gifted education programs
High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) enrichment days for primary students in science, visual arts, digital technologies and creative writing, designed to extend high-potential and gifted learners.
Professional learning
Teacher professional learning workshops and courses in fieldwork, outdoor learning and environmental education for K–12, aligned to NSW syllabus requirements.
