Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre teachers deliver selected primary and secondary incursions in classrooms, halls, playgrounds and natural areas at participating schools.

Location

School incursions are delivered at the participating school.

Depending on the program, learning may take place in a classroom, school hall, playground, garden or suitable natural area within or near the school grounds.

Check the relevant program page for the spaces, facilities, equipment and technology required for your incursion.

Accessibility

Schools should select learning spaces and movement routes that are accessible and appropriate for participating students and staff.

Include relevant medical, mobility, sensory, communication and learning support information when booking. Contact Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre before the incursion so suitable adjustments can be discussed and planned.

Preparing your school

Review the preparation information on the relevant program page and share it with all participating teachers.

Before the incursion:

Some programs require access to learning spaces before the first session and after the final session for equipment setup and pack-down.

Staff arrival and parking

Provide clear school-entry, visitor sign-in and parking instructions before the incursion.

Where possible, arrange parking or an unloading area close to the program’s main learning space, particularly when Field of Mars EEC teachers are transporting equipment.

Ensure the school office has the organising teacher’s current contact details and knows where the program will be delivered.
