Program overview
Place and liveability is a Stage 4 Geography excursion in the Shepherd’s Bay precinct and Parramatta River foreshore where students investigate what makes an urban place liveable. Students use a range of qualitative and quantitative fieldwork methods to survey community, liveability and environmental quality, then interpret their data to draw conclusions about how people experience and value the area as a place to live.
We have temporarily reduced the maximum amount of classes to 4 due to construction noise.
Inquiry questions
- How does access to services and facilities, environmental quality, and social connectedness affect the liveability of the Shepherd’s Bay urban precinct?
- How can we measure, assess, and rank liveability?
- How might perceptions of liveability differ between people?
