First look at the study sites

The fieldwork is conducted at two sites at Sugarloaf Hill. The sites are named "North Junction" and "Southside Bend". At each site we compare a range of biotic and abiotic factors.

Click and drag on the 360 degree images below to examine the two study sites.

  • What are your first impressions?
  • Can you identify any differences and similarities?

Study site 1 - Southside Bend. Located on the south side of Sugarloaf Hill. It has a thick, diverse layer of ground cover plants and shrubs. The walking track is 1.5m wide at this point.

Study site 2 - North Junction. Located on the north side of Sugarloaf Hill. It has a much thinner layer of ground cover plants. The walking track is 2-3m wide at this site due to erosion.

Now use menu to explore the location, climate, features and interactions of the two study sites.
