ONE DAY WORKSHOP: Friday 1 September 2023
Maximum 4 students per school.
30 participants only.
Facilitator: Darelle White specialist DoE visual arts and primary teacher.
Teachers are NOT required to attend the workshop.
Stage 2 students are invited to spend the day immersed in, and be inspired by, the unique urban bushland setting of the Field of Mars Reserve. They will experience and examine the local natural and human objects, patterns and textures to create original artworks that reflect their own experiences and feelings about a juxtaposed environment. Students will view the work of Australian artists who have created in similar environments and spend the day making, creating and learning new visual arts skills.
Media used will include drawing, painting, printing, mixed media, textiles and collage.
The workshop is delivered by Darelle White, a specialist visual arts teacher, and Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre teachers. This one-day workshop is designed to extend participants' skills and artmaking experiences beyond the classroom.
Teachers are encouraged to extend this opportunity to students who display a higher level of engagement in visual arts.
Teachers or parents will need to drop off and pick up the students to and from the Field of Mars Reserve on the day.
