Bus trip to Buffalo Creek Reserve or Boronia Park.

A bus will take you to Buffalo Creek Reserve or Boronia Park.

Walking around the playground to the meeting area (no play equipment).

You will walk around the playground at Buffalo Creek Reserve to get to the meeting area. You will not play on the play equipment.

In the meeting area the Field of Mars EEC teachers will talk with you about your day.

You will sit on the grass and have your first food break.

Toilets and preparing for the day’s learning.

You will go to the toilet and prepare for your day’s adventure.

Walking along boardwalks during the day.

During the day you will walk along boardwalks.

Walking up and down stairs and across rocks safely.

You will walk up and down stairs and across rocks.

Bush track with roots, rocks and soil (may be slippery when wet).

You will walk on bush tracks that have roots, rocks and soil. When it has been raining the rocks can be slippery.

Making a miniature canoe from natural materials and testing if it floats.

You might make a miniature canoe out of natural materials from the ground. If the tide is right you will get to test whether it floats on the water.

Practising traditional tool-making activities (safe, supervised).

You will get to practise making some traditional tools.

Example of wildlife that might be seen in the bushland.

You might see some wildlife that lives in the bushland.

Food break in the bush (rubbish packed out in bags).

You will have a food break in the bush. There are no rubbish bins. Your rubbish will go in your bag.

Finishing at a different location and using toilets before leaving.

You will finish at a different location from where you started. You will go to the toilet and get ready to leave.

Walking back to the bus for the return trip to school.

At the end of the day you will walk back to the bus and the bus will take you back to school.
